First Time for Everything

Well, I’ve decided to join the millions of other people in the world and start a blog.  Some may say I’m a little late to the show, but I don’t believe it’s ever to late to start something new.  I have read blogs for several years and have to say it’s a great way to find new ideas, “meet” people and find out you’re not the only one out there who is a stay-at-home mom craving a much-needed change of pace once in a while ;-)

I am a stay-at-home mom to my two kiddos, Allison is 4 and Liam is 20 months.  I’ve also got baby #3 due in September.  My life is pretty busy keeping up with these two, but as they are getting older, I find it easier to carve out time for other things I enjoy.

If I said I love to cook, that would be an understatement.  I try a new recipe at least twice a week and we rarely eat the same thing over and over again…except pizza.  I could live on it for years…my husband thinks I’m nuts.  Once a week is too much for him.  I also like to bake, but I’m preggo with baby #3 and the dessert craving isn’t there.  I have no doubt it will return once the bambino is born.

I also love to decorate my home and do home improvement projects.  We live in a house that is 1508 sf, which is filled with builders-grade everything.  It contained lots of browns, yellows and golds, which is just not our style.  We’ve lived in this house for 6 years and it is just now beginning to feel like home.  It took us a while because in my 20’s, I kind of went with what everyone else liked and tried to do what I thought was ‘in’.  Now, in my 30’s, I tend to do what makes me happy and it has really helped me love my home.

I am an avid runner and crave working out!  I’m pretty much a bear if I don’t get my workout in.  It’s such a good start to the day and makes me feel alive and refreshed.  I don’t run while I’m pregnant, but I do walk 3 miles on the treadmill 5x/week.  I also tote around my 20 month old son, which is a workout in itself b/c he’s almost 30 lbs.

I can’t wait to document my journeys and hopefully help a few people in the process – enjoy!
